Authentic Ancient Roman Ring with blue engraved stone - Bronze - 1st. - 3rd. Century A.D.
This is an authentic Roman ring made of bronze with an engraved blue stone on the bezel.
This ring has been dated to the first - third century A.D. thus making it between 1700 and 1900 years old!
The stone has been engraved with an olive twig, also in Roman times a general symbol for peace.
It is in unrestored condition and was unearthed at the dig site of a Roman villa in the Balkan, Eastern Europe, an area where the Romans often went to war to subdue the East Celts.
Holding this artefact in one's hands, one can almost feel the power, glory and might of the Roman Empire!
Everybody can go to the shopping mall and simply pick a new piece of jewelry out of enormous stocks of freshly made items but how many of you have ever given (or gotten!) a present to a near or dear one with such history embedded into it, such character, the patina of 1700 years battling the elements and so unique that there is truely only ONE of it in the world?
Most probably this is a man's ring.
Imagine that 1900 years ago, a wealthy Roman (probably with pacifist political ideas, hence the olive twig) had this ring commissioned, choose the design, the stone and the engraving...
Wouldn't it be great if some 1900 years later, a "modern day man" would wear this ring on his finger or show it in your home as a decoration piece?
The ring has a diameter of some 17 mm which corresponds to a US size 6 3/4.
We qualify this ring as unrestored, "as found" and cleaned with the beautful patina of having spent 17 centuries burried in the ground.
It could be worn in its present condition but you could also let it have restored to its former glory or use it "as-is" as a decoration item.
It would be a GREAT conversation piece!
This is NOT a copy of any kind. This is an authentic 1700 - 1900 year old piece, NOT available anywhere else but from us!
Only 1 available of course.
